Hey loves! This post serves as a super short review of MACs "Colour Added" palette from their Shop MAC Collection.

Introducing the Palette named "Colour Added"

Top Row (from left to right): Laundry Daze and Colour Added

Bottom Row (respectively) : Pre-packaged and Self -Serve

This is the look I created yesterday using all the colors from the palette (tutorial coming soon)

The palette consists of Satin and Veluxe Pearl Eyeshadow colors

Laundry Daze, Colour Added, Pre-packaged, and Self-Serve

Here's a quick color description of the colors per the MAC website:

Laundry Daze : Light Yellow (Satin)

Colour Added : Bright Yellow (Veluxe Pearl)

Pre-packaged : Muted Turquoise (Veluxe Pearl)

Self-Serve : Deep Grey (Satin)

Laundry Daze and Self-Serve are the two Satin colors, however, Self-Serve seemed less pigmented than the rest of the colors. At first, this dissapointed me but it was fine once applied over a white base (darker skin).

Regarding the color description; to my eyes, Laundry Daze looks like a super light cream color and Colour Added looks like a light lime green.

There's something so sleek about MACs palette presentation!

Overall,

It's a nice palette and you have the option of creating some nice looks. I'm a little stumped on how to use this palette and will continue to test it out. My goal is to use this palette without feeling the need to use a white base. If you guys see any dark skinned beauties with pictures of looks they've created using this palette..DO TELL!!

Green and Grey Smokey on Dark Skin / WOC

3..2..1.. Damn it!

I haven't a clue how to manage how RED I am in my pictures. Sure, I definitely have red undertones, but my camera capitalizes on this a bit too much. Not to mention, I don't see it on my Macbook, but on my PC, I'm about as red as a chili pepper! Nothing against chili peppers, they are the bomb.

With that out of the way, this is the look I did yesterday. It's Green/Gray/Black. I was going to post the tutorial yesterday, but then I realized it looks very similar to me last tutorial! I guess I'm in a green kind of mood. I will post the tutorial eventually. Possibly in 2-3 weeks time. Till then enjoy the pics and sorry for all the chili pepperness.

Glossy Black Smokey Eyeshadow Look on Dark Skin WOC

I didn't use a lot this time around.

MACs "Black Track" cream liner
MACs "NW40 concealer"
Urban Decay's "Suspect" E/S
Safeway Brand Vaseline
Lashes: They are Ardell's but I don't know the number, lo siento!

I wanted to quickly mention that once you add vaseline to the look, your E/S is more likely to crease =-(. So if you'd rather play it safe, skip the last step (don't add vaseline for gloss)

This is the look with just the cream liner and concealer and highlight. You can rock it just like this if you'd like.

Now I've added Makeup Forever's Diamond Powder in Copper to my upper lash line. The glitter glue used is by Two Faced cosmetics // again, you can rock it like this =D

Wet N Wild I Love Matte Palette

Hey boos. This is a look I created using Wet N Wild's "I love Matte Palette." I'll be posting a tutorial up next week.
Mini Review: This is an great palette in general. Pigmented shadows, great color selection, and long lasting when paired with e/s primer. What transforms this palette from "great" to "amazing" is it's price, $4.99. The shadows looked a little "ashy " when I swatched them on my forearm, but they end up applying beautifully on the lid. Don't be discouraged if you happen to see ugly swatches! They apply just fine.

There's a group of ladies I enjoy spending time with...appropriately I refer to them as "the ladies"...

So this past Sunday, I went to dinner with the ladies where we enjoyed drinks, reminisced, and exchange gifts.

Below is the outfit I wore. The dress is from Express and I believe it was originally $120, however, I usually shop there with coupons so I paid something around $80 for it. Actually, I purchased the dress for my sister for a high school dance. She doesn't wear the dress much, so she gave it to me since she knew I'd put it to good use.

Yippeeee! Being a fan of "all things bright" I love this look (and I hope you do too). I was a little discouraged while I was creating it. It wasn't looking the way I imagined it "should have" looked but I am so glad I stuck with it. Sometimes a look may not come out the way you expect it to but that certainly doesn't mean that you won't be equally if not more pleased. This was a lesson learned for me. Here's the look for today.

This is a great look for everyday, easy to transition from day to night, and customizable. If you want to make it more dramatic, add black or a darker color, if you want to make it more modest, use a softer color.

MAC: Purple Haze (shade used on my eye lid)

MAC: Texture (used on space above eyelid / underneath brow bone)

MAC : Concealer in NW40 (used underneath brow-line)

MAC: Rice paper (Underneath brow bone /over NW40)

MAC: Beauty Marked (used to create outer V )

Bobbi Brown: Shimmer Wash E/S "Chocolate" (Used over "texture" )

Other:

Eyeliner (upper lash line) : Nyx's liquid eyeliner in "Brown" (Drk Brown is fine as well)

Lipstick: Sephora's Chocolate 22 -9218A R22 / MACs Viva Glam Gaga 2 / MACs Cremesheen "Fashion Whim"

(First I applied R22 to my lips, then on the center I applied Gaga 2 to create dmension. Lastly, I wanted a gloss look to it all and added fashion whim over it all to achieve that look.)

LA Fashion District / Garment District / Santee Alley

Hi Guys,

Wanted to quickly share this with you. So last weekend I went to LA with some of my fav love bugs for my birthday. One of our stops was the LA Fashion District (also known as Garment District and Santee Alley) to purchase cheap jewelry!

Each of the rings above cost me no more than $3 (you can haggle there)

This necklace and matching earrings cost $4. It's VERY flattering with black tube dresses amongst other things.

Love these earrings. They cost $4

Everything else you see on the table (jewelry only) was only a buck =D

For varieties sake, I purchased several $1 earrings in colors that I don't already own. If you ever get a chance to visit the LA area, I recommend checking this area out. Oh, and Huntington Beach..we had a BLAST

Liquid Foundation Routine for Oily and Hyperpigmented Pimple prone Skin

That title alone is a mouthful!

I'm uploading my YT video on my Summer foundation routine for your viewing.

I wanted to highlight a few things from the video

My Skin Type: Severe hyper pigmentation, pimple prone, and very oily
Goal of my foundation routine: To help prevent oil production and use as little foundation as possible while maximizing coverage.

Tips for oil reduction:

Try using oil reducing primers ( Bare Minerals Oil Reducing Prime Time primer, or MACs Matte primer, etc)
Apply Milk of Magnesia on your most oily areas and let dry prior to using foundation (this has worked for me for months now)
Set your liquid foundation with a veil of sorts ( Bare Minerals Tinted Mineral Veil, MAC Mineralized Skin finish, etc.)
Carry blot powder with you. Blot sheets will work as well. A cheap and free blot sheet alternative is to cut up toilet seat covers and stuff em in a ziploc bag and store in your purse. These remove oil JUST like those expensive blotting sheets sold everywhere.

Tips for hyper-pigmentation:

The goal in wearing foundation over hyper-pigmented skin is to wear as little foundation possible while maximizing coverage. You don't want to overcompensate for your hyper-pigmentation by applying too much foundation. So partnering your foundation with products like, tinted moisturizers, tinted mineral veils, and tinted blot and setting powders should help.

MACs Diva Lipstick on a WOC

Yes, another Red lippy has been added to my collection.
The latest color is "Diva" from MAC. It's a deep reddish-burgundy matte lipstick. I've worn this color the last two days and in 8 hrs I still had/have no need to reapply. Yes, even after withstanding dinner (pizza!) Impressive!

Just a quick color comparison of Diva against some other MAC Reds: Diva, Mac Red, and Ruby Woo.

In the near future, I'll be sure to add some swatches of these reds on my skin for better color and texture comparisons. In the mean time, below is a picture of what Diva looks like on NW45/46 toned skin (sorry for those of you who don't follow my MAC reference!). While it definitely has burgundy tones to it, it isn't as visible in person. It looks like a beautiful deep lightly brownish red.

I recommend this color to anyone who is not comfortable wearing bright reds.

Hello Laaavs !

So yes, I went shopping at Bebe again and purchased this top (and a dress I hope to show you this weekend) on sale. I figure I'll wear it for my birthday dinner come July. I'm wearing a cute high waisted skirt I purchased from Express 3 years ago. The shoes? Steve Madden pumps from Macy's.

This top would look cute with black bottoms (satin black shorts, black capris, skinnies..you get my drift =D)

Eyeshadow Base Review - Oily Lids

Hello Lav's Hope you're doing well!

If I plan to wear eyeshadow for more than 45 minutes, I better use a primer otherwise my eyeshadow will clump amidst the excess oil on my lids.

Products I've used as bases in the past are:

MAC Bases

MAC Fluidline

Coastal Scents Cream Liners

Revlon Cream Shadows

Elf Duo Cream Shadows

Loreal Hip Duo Cream Liners

Makeup Forever Aqua Creams

Ben Nye's Lumiere Creme Palette

Prettyyyy

I wish I could tell you that all of these products are amazing eyeshadow bases, but alas, with much regret, I cannot!

For those of us with excessively oily lids, primer application underneath bases are necessary.

The bases that have worked best for me without having to use primers are MACs Fluidline Cream liners and Makeup Forevers Aqua Cream. Loreal Hip Cream Liners work well also, however, I do not recommend them as they seem to dry out (in its container quickly..so they don't last as long as I'd like) much quicker than MACs Fluidline liners.

The rest of the aforementioned bases crease heavily in my lids and quite honestly, to avoid creasing, I'd have to use very little color ( totally defeating the purpose of using a base in the first place).

Of the bases that crease in my lids, Ben Nye's Lumiere Color Wheel colors are the most pigmented. Therefore, I can get away with using a little bit of it and still achieve great color pay off but again it must be partnered with a primer!

Makeup Forever's Aqua Cream and MACs Fluidline are the best that I've tried. MACs Fluidline drys quickly, so you have to apply it relatively quickly. It's also fairly water proof so you'll need a great makeup remover. MF's Aqua Cream is waterproof and washes off easily with makeup removing soap. There's so much color pay off, and MF offers these in several colors. Both, I highly recommend.

MAC Bases - I love MAC, but their bases don't have a home in my future makeup stash.

These are super cheap bases, decent color payoff, but crease like no other. Will not be purchasing again. Good thing they where only $1 each =D

Loreal Hip Cream Liner. Do you guys see how it's looking dry? I've had my fluidline for longer and it's perfectly hydrated.

Coastal Scents Cream Liners. The only liner I like from this Company was the Black one. The rest of the colors I received where very soft almost liquidy (it's hard to explain) and didn't apply well.

Here's another outfit I wore last weekend.

The top and tank top was from Express.com. I purchased my jeans from a local express store last summer for $34 bucks. My sandals were from a generic shoe store in the mall. I purchased them for a Vegas trip - 2 pairs for $20. My braclet (you've seen before) is from Asos.com. This was $10.40 after the Euro/American dollar conversion.

Hope you guys like it. I ended up rocking a cheapy black scarf from H&M as it later became windy.

Inglot Cosmetics Haul - WOC friendly (HUGE Picture HAUL)

Hey Dawlings, This post is a swatch and initial review of the products purchased in my Inglot Cosmetics Haul. I have not used them yet, hence, I cannot comment on them in that respect. Keep an eye out for a follow up post in a few weeks after I get to know my beeriful Inglot E/s' better.

The very sight of this package made me happy!

I purchased two palettes . The 20 and 5 shadow palettes. Not sure how long this will last but once I hit purchase, these palette prices dropped to $5 each. Normally, the 20 palette costs $25..getting it for $5 was a DEAL

The magnetic attraction between the cover and the palette is strong. Rest assured, your eyeshadow will be secure.

Some of my eyeshadows looked as if smooshed by someones finger, however, the shadows were fine when I opened them. I still didn't like this. About 5 of my shadows arrived like this.

The magnets at the bottom of the palette were not "even" but it doesn't seem to matter much. The eyeshadows adhere to it strongly.

The shadows came in nice packaging. Quite honestly, you don't even need to use the space alloted to grab the eyeshadow. Simply turning it over was all I needed to do for it to come right out.

Quick Summary: I think very highly of the Aqua Creams-which is why I've added more to my collection. For those of you with oily lids, these aqua creams are simply amazing. To read my overall review of the Aqua Creams Click Here . You'll find swatches of Aqua Cream #14 there.

Quick thing to note, you cannot use all the Aqua Creams for your eyes. Some are just for use on your cheeks and lips. So pay close attention to the labeling in the front (See above)

"Perversion" Liquid liner from Urban Decay

#15, #20, Perversion

Quick Review of "Perversion": It's a great eyeliner.

Know that there's nothing water proof about it (it doesn't claim to be anyway). This makes it easy to wash off and easy to erase mistakes. Works like a charm and really like many cheaper liquid eyeliners I've tried (except for ELFs liquid liner - HORRIBLE). What seemingly sets this apart from other liners is the brush applicator. It's very thin, long, and light weight. It allows me to apply eyeliner very nicely and I have been able to achieve much nicer cat eyes using this liner.

Oh! Let's not forget, this is an animal cruelty free product. Go Urban Decay!
I will be buying this again and in more colors.

Bebe Haul - Clothing WOC

This post is to share with you some darling tops I've recently acquired from Bebe.

Last Friday, I was pleasantly surprised with this Luxe Leopard Dolman Top my boyfriend had waiting at the house for me.

Love it! I'm wearing a size small here ///5'5 3/4 inch and 135 lbs.

The dollman deal is that the sleeves are "bat winged". This shirt is very thin and most appropriate for warmer weather. I'm wearing a brown bandeau underneath.

I want to quickly mention that I love the fact that this shirt isn't "jockin" my armpits. I sweat VERY easily. I have a feeling that this will be a staple summer shirt for me.

Don't worry about my feet. However, the shoes I'm wearing are suede Steve Madden Pumps from Macy's (4 inches/ Size 10)

I ordered the Striped Colorblock Tunic I from Bebe.com

What I love about this top is that I, personally, have never seen anything like it before.

The tackyness of it all is something so amazing! Again, the sleeve area doesn't touch my armpits which is a perk for me.

Being goofy =p

The last top is a Foil Print Sweater also acquired from Bebe.com. This sweater comes in two colors, silver and gold. It's a very metallic looking print and again..borderline tacky. Love it! I'm not digging the pictures I took in this particular sweater so check back in a few days to see more updated pictures in this post.

Though this is a silver metallic sweater, you can still see the brown underneath . So I like to wear brown and silver E/S with this sweater. Tutorial to come soon.

I already told ya'll. Don't worry about my feet. Shoes are blowfish pumps from DSW. These are about 3 yrs old now.

As much as I shop, rarely do I pay full price for items and rarely do I make uninformed purchases.

For example, if I am considering purchasing products, I search the internet high and low for customer reviews and swatches (if the product can be swatched of course). If I am purchasing clothes online and the website offers reviews, I search for photo reviews to view customer body types in comparison to mine to make sure I am making a more informed decision.
If you are interested in trying out or purchasing products, there are several blogs out there and YouTube reviews to help guide your decision. I say there's nothing wrong with learning from other peoples experiences..in these instances it can save you money (the bottom line for me).
Anyway- To the point!
In my efforts to save, if there's no coupon on hand I search for one online..usually it's about 50% successful. But today loves, today I was rewarded with a $25 coupon for Express.com.

I simply googled "express coupons 3/11" and retailmenot.com was the first search that populated. Gave it a try, used coupon code 9014 and received $25 off my purchase. She is pleased =D

ELFs professional 9 pc. Brush Collection

This brush kit retails for $15 on ELFs website. You may already be familiar with this, but one of the great things about ELF is that they regularly (I almost want to say daily) offer some kind of sale. If there's not sale, they also advertise several coupon codes to use during checkout. Sometimes they have 1 hour deals where you can purchase large collections (etc) for very low prices.

I purchased this for Brush collection for $7.50 when they were selling all their brushes for 50% off. Fortunately, this sale was applicable to their brush collections.

Ohhh La laaa

The roll

As you can see, once you open the roll there are two compartments, one on each side, where you can store additional items.

I usually throw in my primer, blush, lip and eyebrow products in the compartments. Sometimes I throw mini eyeshadow palettes in there like my Smashbox Masquerade Eyeshadow Palette or my T oo Faced Glamour to Go Fairy Edition palette.

The presentation is aesthetically pleasing.

I save the plastic covers in the brush roll.

Placing the covers on the brushes after use can help keep the roll clean and reduce the amount of bacteria that ends up on the actual roll itself. This, IMO, is tedious. I just clean the roll every time I wash my brushes.

Now time for the review.

Whether you want to spend $15 on this or not is entirely up to you. Personally speaking, I'm not sure that I would have purchased this had it not been on sale for 50% off.

Total Face Brush- I've used this brush to apply finishing powders to my face and it distributes the powder evenly without irritating my skin. However, this brush may not be for you if you have sensitive skin. The texture of the brush reminds me of an improved version of those cheapy mineral brushes that comes with Maybelline's Mineral Power Foundations.

Blushing/bronzing brush- This is not a dense brush but it applies blush well. I would say that this brush has a similar texture to the Total Face Brush.

Foundation brush- This liquid foundation brush is notably thinner than comparable foundation brushes. In terms of performance, this brush will allow you to evenly apply foundation. Due to the lack of bristles on the brush, the hairs seem a bit flimsy.

The eyeshadow brushes in this kit work very well. One thing to note is that the metal part of the brush may separate from the wood over time (my previous experience with Elf E/S brushes). When this happens, just super glue it back in place and you won't run into that problem again.
I rarely use the eyeliner brush to line my lids but it lines them very nicely =D. I use it to shape and sculpt my eyebrows. It does an amazing job.

Of all the brushes in the kit, I'm not loving the smudge sponge brush. I don't hate it, but I find that it removes my eyeliner as I'm trying to smudge it. It could be an application technique that I need to work on, but meh. I've got other brushes that function as better smudge brushes (ELFs small smudge brush is WAY better than the sponge brush)

Recommended For?:

I recommend this kit for beginners or for anyone looking for an affordable travel brush kit.

I'm a bit of a MAC brush snob, however, replacing a MAC brush requires reflection, meditation, and prayer as they are notably expensive! One MAC brush is the cost of this entire kit AND MORE!

All in all, I like this brush kit. I travel a lot and find this brush collection very useful when I'm away from my staple brushes and cosmetics. It's aesthetically pleasing and the brushes are functional.

Went shoppin' at Ross and purchased that "sexy mime" ( <~~ JK!) hoodie for 10 bucks and workout pants for $6.99. Ironically enough I'm rocking guess sneakers I purchased from Ross almost 4 years ago. I'll apologize in advance, the lighting in the pics isn't the best. I'm still learning how to work with my camera (the process is slow and painful). Anyway, you get the gist of the outfit =D

Nina Ultra Pro Nail Polish - Blue Blaze

Just showing you what the color looks like. Purchased this on a whim at Sally's Beauty Supply a couple of weeks ago.
The color dries matte (but I don't think it's a matte polish) and a little darker than how it appears in the bottle. I used a top coat so you won't be able to see what it looks like matte.
Observation:

Dries very quickly!
I don't think that this will last a week without chipping. On Day 1, it chipped after I washed dishes, nothing a quick spot treatment couldn't handle.
UPDATE - I'm mad at this polish. Granted a top and bottom coat was used, this polish does not seem to have integrity. It chips too easily. If you are looking for a polish that will last at least a week without chipping, save your money and consider another brand.

Very pretty color, matte or not.

Viva Glam Gaga II Swatch Review for WOC / Women of Color

Welcome back loves!

This review is on MACs Viva Glam Gaga 2 lipstick and lustre glass.

Getting right into it, I very much like this lipstick, however, it isn't a "must have". Why? Because MAC has comparable nude toned lipsticks in their regular collection.

Viva Glam Gaga 2 Lustre Glass, Fashion Whim and Overindulgence Cremesheen's

Below are a few lipstick colors that are in the "nude" family including Gaga 2 ( some with beige undertones and some wiht pink).

In looking at the swatches you can see that Viva Glam Gaga 2 isn't like any of the other colors. This is good! Of all the colors I swatched above, Gaga 2, a neutral beige, is most comparable to Siss, a golden beige.
As with most of my nude toned lipsticks (aside from Touch), I have to work with Gaga 2 to make it look appealing. For ladies within my color range ( NW45/ Bobbi Brown Almond 7/ Revlon Photoready in Cappuccino) and darker, we definitely cannot wear this color by itself. It needs to be toned down. I use a brown lip liner (often times MACs Chestnut or Sephora's Chic Choco lip liner)

The Lustre glass partners very well with the lipstick. I only apply it sparingly as too much of this color will not be flattering (with the lipstick).

Of my lip gloss collection, the Gaga 2 Lustreglass is most comparable to MACs Fashion Whim Cremesheen. Being that it's a cremesheen it has a different formula than the Lustreglass.

Final Thoughts:

If you are willing to work with it, Viva Glam Gaga 2 is a very nice lipstick. The lustre glass nicely compliments the lipstick as well.

Because MAC has so many nude toned lipstick colors, owning Viva Glam Gaga 2 isn't a must! It just isn't. You can create very similar looks with Siss.

How to clean your false lashes and make them last

Hey boo's =D. Quick post on how I maintain my lashes.

I usually get between 10-18 uses from my falsies and I don't see how you can use them any less. I remove the glue buildup from them every 2-3 uses and clean them afterwards.

To help maintain their shape, I place them back in their "holder" . To help the lashes adhere to their holder, I use a small amount of glue to help hold it in place.

Here's how I clean my lashes.

Step 1: Whip out the lashes

Step 2: Whip out your tweezers ( make sure they are clean/disinfected)

Step 3: *Carefully* tweeze the glue off the lashes.

That little ball there is the glue I tweeze

Step 4: You'll need a cotton swab and running alcohol.

Step 5: Soak the swab with rubbing alcohol, then gently press the lash into it. Keep in mind that you *do not* want to swipe the lash as you may get cotton swab goodness stuck to it.

Flip over and repeat.

Step 6: Let them dry (takes no more than 10-15 minutes ) and you're done!

MACs Ruby Woo on a WOC Women of Color

This is a blue based red that will look amazing on ladies with warm undertones like myself.

Sexy Face

This is an amazing matte red lipstick. In the picture below, I lined my lips with MACs Burgundy then applied Ruby Woo. In looking at these pictures, please note that my camera washes out the deepness of the red. =-(

I didn't do the greatest job in application!! BUT This is what Ruby Woo looks like with Venetian Lustre glass applied over it. If you want to save money and not use Venetian, Nyx's Tinted Lip Glass in Red will do the trick.

I recently posted a Youtube video and blogpost on a look I did using Ruby Woo. You can check them out for more pictures and hopefully to get a better feel of the color. All in all, I recommend this red. It's gorgeous! If you are looking for something brighter, I say give MACs "Russian Red" a try, If you are looking for something deeper "Diva" is a nice color

MAC Lipstick Haul Women of Color WOC

MAC Haul! I'm definitely a fan of MAC products and tend to go for their permanent items. I've never been a big fan of their collection items. Maybe it's because 90% of them become discontinued..so what's the point in owning it? I'm just saying!

Anyway, I'm sharing pictures of the the items purchased in my haul. I'm going to make a second blog post for the lipsticks so you can see what they look like partnered with the lip liners. We WOCs need as many picture references as possible since there really aren't many out there.

The Haul

Siss, Honeylove, Viva Glam II, Ruby Woo

Partnered with MACs Chestnut lip liner, Siss, Honeylove, and Viva Glam II make for AMAZING Nude lips. They all have their own tint to it, but none the less great nude lips!

Partnered with MACs Burgandy lip liner, Ruby Woo is a gorgeous matte red.

Venetian Lustreglass

Venetian provides a nice red and shiny tint to your lips. It also looks GREAT over red lipstick. Check out my next post for pictures.

Fashion Whim Cremesheen

Fashion Whim is the most "nude" color of MAC Cremesheens. It has a pinky/peachy undertone and when applied lightly, it shows up very sheer on darker complexions. So do not fret my friends, no need to be intimidated by this color. I literally apply this to the back of my hand (to preserve the color) and from there dabble a bit of this color over my nude lips if I'm not going for a matte look.

Hey Loves, so here's a valentines day look that I've created.

Eyeshadows Used:
Bare minerals: Azure, Moss, Berry Custard, Crushed Velvet (blush I used as an E/S)
Loreal's High Intensity Pigment in "Fiery"

MAC Nude Lipsticks for Women of Color WOC

Hey loves! There are SEVERAL lipsticks you can choose from to get the perfect nude lips. In the past, I've relied on sales reps to help lead me in the right direction, and I will mention this; more often than not, they are not familiar with what truly looks great on darker WOC complexions. I've been told by a MAC representative that they don't have nude to nude-ish colors for my complexion but holler she was wrong! Now, I think it's best to just go in there and try colors for yourself. Don't rule them out until you've seen what they look like on your lips!

Check out the four that I am currently in love with!

MACs Honeylove - Matte pink beige lipstick.

I used chestnut lip liner with Honeylove.

This color reminds me of NYXs "Rhea" lipstick in the sense that you'll need to be able to work with this to tone it down some. To bring out the pink in this color, you can partner it with pink blushes, pink clothing, or even a pinky lip liner...I recommend Burgundy.

I put just a teensy bit of Fashion Whim cremesheen over it to get a light shine

Here's what it looks like on my entire face...I'll admit not the best pic out there..but shoot.. I was happy!

Viva Glam II

My favorite of the three is Viva Glam II. I can't pinpoint what it is about this I like the most, but I suppose it's the color. This is another pink/beige based shimmer (light) nude.

Lipstick with Chestnut lip liner

Now with Fashion Whim Cremesheen applied to it. The milkyness is from the cremesheen and the fact that I have very "textured" lips

Here's a pic of a look I'm wearing with the Viva glam lip combo.

Touch - Lustre Peachy Cinnamon

I lined my lips with Sephora's Chic Choco Lip Liner then filled my lips in with Touch

I did not add additional lip gloss to get a shine. This is solely Touch and my lip liner =D

The good thing about this lipstick is that you can wear this without a lip liner.

All in all, I love all four colors! I love love love them and I think you might too! Try not to be afraid of color! I'll be honest, they looked a little "loud" to me, but they really are not. It helps to be able to tone them down with lip liner! As always, I hope you find this useful and thanks for readin'!

Pink Valentine's day look

I decided to use shadows I haven't used in a while to create a "pink" look in honor of the upcoming Valentines Day.

I used Loreal and Bare Mineral pigments to achieve this look. I plan on perfecting it a bit more prior to posting a tutorial . So stay tuned love bugs =D

Here's a close up of the look. I'm having a very difficult time getting my camera to capture the colors. It barely picks up on the bright blue-green color ( "Azure" by BE) on the inner/bottom lash line area. *sigh* Until I figure this out please continue to hang in there!

Black Radiance - Shades of Plum Lip Gloss Palette

Looking for gorgeous yet affordable lip colors? If so, I suggest giving Black Radiances "Shades of Plum" lip gloss palette a try.

I purchased this palette at Rite Aid a few months ago for around $4. Pretty good deal right?

Don't expect this palette to last all or even half a day. Typically, these colors last for around 3 hrs before they need to be reapplied (for me anyway). However, it helps to keep in mind that this is a lip gloss and not lip stick.

Fave Perfumes

   A couple of months ago, I was glaring at my perfume collection and realized that I didn't like my fragrances! Most of them where gifts.
   Of course they all smelled nice to me, but I realized that I didn't LOVE them hence the reason why they weren't being used. When I had Givenchy's Very Irresistible (which I plan on repurchasing soon), I ran out of it QUICK. That's love guys.
   To make a long story short, I decided to slowly transform my collection into something that I love and adore.
Here are the first 3 fragrances I've purchased in that effort.
** Side note: These Fragrances are all floral and I've linked the Sephora.com website for your convenience. I recommend checking out the fragrance descriptions there**
In no particular order, the first fragrance is DKNY's Pure.

The second fragrance is Acqu di Gioia by Armani

Of the three fragrances, this one is the strongest, however, it's NOT POTENT! Yay =D
This fragrance tends to last longer than the other two and by the end of the day, I can still smell it. If you this spray your clothing, this will definitely be there by the end of the day.

Lastly, the Hello Kitty perfume is amazing! =D
What eye candy! Its presentation is just so damn cute!

I would describe this as a soft fragrance. I like to spray it on the typical places women spray perfume and my scarf....I get to bask in the yumminess!
This fragrance doesn't seem to last all day, however, since it is a soft fragrance it may be that I get used to it quickly.
Either way, I LOVE IT.

Now, an incredibly popular floral fragrance that everyone seems to love is Marc Jacobs' Daisy perfume. Unfortunately (for me), I do not like it as much as I would have liked (gift). It's ok, but I notice that I get tired of the fragrance relatively quickly. I'll rock it from time to time but I do not plan on replacing this.

Illamasqua Nail Polish

This is an ultra quick review on my first Illamasqua Nail Polish.

This color is called "lament"

I went to Sephora SF this weekend and my girlfriends brought this nail polish to my attention. Needless to say that between the three of us, we tried all the colors.

Pros:

The colors are extremely pigmented
Chip resistant (I've been wearing "Lament" for 4 days now with no top coat and I haven't experienced any chipping)
The polish dries quickly
There are nearly 30 shades
I CAN'T HELP BUT FEEL SUMMERY WEARING THE BRIGHT COLORS!

Over all, I'm definitely impressed by this nail polish. Normally my OPI's chip in 3 days without a top coat. This polish has not and it doesn't even look like it will soon. This is great for me because I'm not a top coater due to extreme laziness =D

I plan on purchasing more colors in the near future. I'll be sure to post pics up as I try out the new colors.

Today's Review: Urban Decay's book of Shadows Volume III

First off, I want Urban Decay to know that I forgive them for not using "Urban Decay Loves Cali". Secondly, I'd like to mention that this palette is AMAZING.

What the case look like from a birds eye view

This is the artwork that "pops up"when you open it

Pros:

If you don't have Urban Decay shadows this is a great starter palette for those who like bold colors
Urban decay shadows in general blend very well
Given that the palette has 16 colors, you have the ability to create several looks
I like that the case is sturdy, makes me feel like my shadows are protected
The pencil liners glide on easily and work well on lining both your upper and lower lids
The primer potion is great in fighting oily lids (like mine) and it prolongs shadow wear

Cons:

The mirror is hidden behind the NYC art work, making the mirror useless.
Just as I mentioned in my Naked palette review. I don't like that Urban Decay repeats their colors. This is not necessarily a con in terms of how the palette delivers. But I only have 2 Urban Decay palettes and I already have a dup "Smog". Lovely colors...but I don't want more duplicates.

Blue Smokey Eye using Urban Decay's Book of Shadow's Volume III

To the newbies, Welcome to my blog dearies! To the oldies, LOVE YOU FOR COMING BACK!

I'm a particularly anxious person and I've already finished the tutorial for this video...I'm trying my darndest to exercise patience and post this video on Wednesday (just to space out my videos!)

Anyhow, enjoy the pics of the upcoming look. Also, keep an eye out for my review on the palette (inclusive of swatches). That should be up by Tuesday..if I get too anxious, it'll be up tomorrow.
